To report a dog bite or dog attack within the La Quinta city limits, please call the Animal Control office at (760) 777-7050 as soon as possible. Providing a description of the dog, date, time, location of the attack, and where the dog lives (if known), will be helpful to the officer following-up on your complaint.
If you need immediate medical attention, contact your health care provider, urgent care or hospital for treatment. The treating physician will also document a report of the dog bite incident.
To report issues involving unleashed dogs, dogs running loose, illegal animals or unsanitary premises, you may file a complaint by filing out a Report of Animal Control Violation form in person at our office, faxing it to us at (760) 777-7011. If you need more information or have questions, you may call us at (760) 777-7050. You will be required to provide the street number and name, the type of violation and description, reporting party’s name (your name), address and phone number. Your identity will not be disclosed unless required by state law.
