An Evening with Friends

A special series of programs sponsored by the Friends of the La Quinta Library. All programs fall on Thursdays at 6:00 p.m.

November 12, 2009 - Celtic Music provided by the Muses.

December 17, 2009 - A multi-cultural sing-along with Dan Crow.

January 21, 2009 - John Malcolm Penn and folk songs of the Coachella Valley.

February 18, 2009 - Sergio and Shirley with music of the Andes.

On-the-Lap Storytime
Autumn Series: October 6th through December 8, 2009.
Winter series: Starts on January 5th.
Each Tuesday from 10:00-10:30 a.m. in the Children’s Area. This is a program for babies and very young children who are just learning to listen to stories and songs. Parents accompany their little ones and provide warm comfortable laps.

Preschool Storytime
Library storytimeWe will meet again starting October 6th.  Join us every Tuesday from 11 a.m. -noon for stories, songs, finger plays and crafts.  This program is for children ages 3 and up who can sit independently, listen to stories and follow our leader, Ms. Beth.  It is an excellent way to prepare stay-at-home children for Kindergarten.

The Adult Theme-Based Book Club
The club meets the first Monday of every month from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Topics are selected by the membership. Each person reads a book of their choice on the subject and then gather to compare and contrast their titles. Members who are traveling may still participate by reading and sharing their comments online with other club attendees.

The Who Dunnit Book Club

This program meets at the library and the La Quinta Senior Center at 10:30 a.m.. This new format mystery book club meets at the library ( LQL) on the third Wednesday to get background on the authors and a book list then meets at the Senior Center (LQSC) on the first Wednesday to hear a speaker on the subject.
